Two Techies

Story

I am Sue and will be travelling with my son Tim. I'm originally from Palmerston North now residing in Ashhurst. I've owned 1980 (first car!), 2009, 2014 and now a 2017 JCW MINI.  I love driving our Mini's, so why not do it for a great cause. What's 6 days, 2438km on the road anyway! I'll hand you over to my son.

I am Tim, own a 1972 Leyland Clubman. It was also my first car. It has been through nearly as many developments as I have over the ten plus years I have owned it. Well, that might be a bit of a stretch but it has had its fair share.  I have re-powered it with a 1.8L Honda VTEC engine from a DC2 Integra. I am living in our destination city of Invercargill and loving it! Our plan is to drive Mum's JCW the length of the North Island, and my VTEC the rest of the way!

We are Team Two Techie, taking our technologically powered Mini's to Invercargill!

As part of the 2021 Pork Pie Charity Run, we’ll be driving our MINI's from Paihia to Invercargill over just six days. This epic journey will test the willpower, stamina and sense of humour of our team, not to mention push our beloved vehicle to the limit. It’s all in the name of a good cause though – we are proud to be raising funds for KidsCan to help Kiwi kids in need reach their full potential.

By donating to our team, you'll help KidsCan provide food, clothing and basic health & hygiene items to Kiwi kids living in hardship through their awesome schools and early childhood centre based programmes. These simple essentials can help change children’s lives for the better.

Please support us by clicking the big red donate button.

Thank you!

KidsCan Charitable Trust

KidsCan is helping Kiwi kids living in hardship reach their full potential and create brighter futures for themselves.

We provide Kiwi kids in need with food, clothing and health items at school and early childhood centres, so they can get into the classroom in a position to learn. KidsCan does this because we believe that education equals opportunity, and all children, regardless of their social economic background should have an equal chance.

For just $30 a month, you can join the thousands of New Zealanders dedicated to changing a child’s life. Find out more at KidsCan.org.nz
