RUN BMC
RUN BMC
Story
1,857km in a Mini!
The Pork Pie Charity Run is a bi-annual fundraising road trip for all Mini owners, based loosely on the route taken by the Blondini Gang in the original movie. https://www.porkpie.co.nz/
The first run took place in 2009 with 36 teams making the trip from Kaitaia to Invercargill over 5 days. The subsequent 5 runs have seen participant numbers increase to a 60 car maximum with the run extended to 6 days on the road. Entries for the 2019 run were filled in just 7 minutes and the event raised over $290,000.
This year the event is raising funds for the Kidscan charity https://www.kidscan.org.nz/. KidsCan provides food, jackets, shoes and health products to Kiwi kids affected by poverty
Team RUN BMC
Shane McLean and Michael Law make up team Run BMC for the Pork Pie Run this year. Shane and Mike are both from Matakana and they will be driving Shane’s 1990 Mini Cooper S all the way to Invercargill!
The aim of the game is fundraising and the team will be present at various locations over the next 7 weeks including the Matakana Market each Saturday. They have already made a great start and some very cool people have donated generously to our cause.
Please help us reach our goal and hit the big RED button above and make a donation!
KidsCan Charitable Trust
KidsCan is helping Kiwi kids living in hardship reach their full potential and create brighter futures for themselves.
We provide Kiwi kids in need with food, clothing and health items at school and early childhood centres, so they can get into the classroom in a position to learn. KidsCan does this because we believe that education equals opportunity, and all children, regardless of their social economic background should have an equal chance.
For just $30 a month, you can join the thousands of New Zealanders dedicated to changing a child’s life. Find out more at KidsCan.org.nz
